Only 250 of these bottles were produced, for a price of $4000 apiece. Now, for the first time ever, this spectacular fragrance is available to the world as Baccarat Rouge 540, a gorgeously woody floral-amber equal parts transparent, dense, and intense.

MFK describes Rouge 540 not in terms of top, heart and base notes, but rather as the interplay between three unique accords, each lending a distinct and visceral characteristic. The breeze accord, jasmine and saffron, sits sheer and delicately spiced on the skin, leading way for the cedar-driven blend of woods that make up the robust and crackling heat accord. Finally, a mineral accord of ambergris seems simultaneously warm and cool, delivering deceptively straightforward depth to mimic the sophistication of Baccarat Crystal itself. Don’t buy it for the hype!

Personally I didn’t like it. Out of 4 fragrances I blindly bought without testing. This was definitely the worst. You can barely smell it but it smells very florally. It doesn’t really project unless you spray like 6 times and even then it’s kind of like a lingering smell ,kind of like you stepped in dog **** and didn’t know.

I immediately bought a full size retail bottle. This is the most delectable perfume I have ever sampled. Expensive, but worth it. I have gotten nonstop compliments since I began wearing it.

For the price of this stuff it should not smell like after shave and thank goodness it doesn’t last long. But that’s a minus because of the price of this stuff

Sweet Yet Bitter

There were definitely aspects of it that I liked, but the cedarwood makes it have a bitter tinge to me that I just couldn't get over. Glad I got the sample size! It helped me figure out that scents with cedarwood are not for me. Overall a great quality, don't let my review prevent you from trying a sample.
